Event Project

Hart Cluett Museum, Urn Restoration and Unveiling

Project Objectives
Document the final assembly and public unveiling of a pair of historically significant, restored front step urns. Create a Digital Press Kit, Social Media Video, and Website News Story.

Shooting the Video
The video shoot took 3.5 hours. It was all done outdoors using available lighting. The audio was recorded with a camera-mounted, shotgun-style microphone.

Editing
Clips from three short interviews provided the story’s narrative. Sound-up, B-roll footage of the urn assembly, the unveiling, and the public viewing was used to support and enhance the story with visuals.

ENG – Prospect Tour Video

Toddy’s Party Pottys, Urn Restoration and Unveiling

Project Objectives
Create a video tour/explainer video showcasing Toddy’s four-stall bathroom trailer and prequalifying ‘tire kickers”. We wanted to give website and Facebook visitors a virtual walk around and into the trailer while explaining functions and covering frequently asked questions.

Shooting the Video
We shot this tour in about 2 hours. We broke the tour into two sections and did it almost real-time with no more than two takes. It was all done outdoors using available lighting. The audio was recorded using our most basic wireless microphone attached to Todd’s shirt.

Editing
Most of the editing involved picking the best sections, eliminating redundancy, and covering these edits with “cutaway footage.” I knew where cutaway footage would be needed and shot it before leaving the sight.

ENG – Presentation Capture Project

Project Objectives
Record a live OSHA training session for future viewing by new employees. Ensure the presenter’s audio is clear and keep the price to a minimum.

Video Shooting
The video shoot took about 2 hours. This was shot indoors with windows behind and on the right side of the presenter. Exposure for the video was set, so enough of the screen was visible, and the speaker’s face wasn’t in complete silhouette.

The audio was captured using one wireless microphone. You’ll notice audience questions, and the audio from others is very quiet in comparison.
Editing
The final video was sixty-two minutes long, so the edit was a relatively lengthy process. We eliminated a few irrelevant sections, added an audio compressor, adjusted the contrast ratio and color saturation, encoded the video for private viewing on their website, and watched it to ensure the final product was finished to spec. New employees will have access to the PowerPoint slides while watching the video, so the client did not want the slides incorporated into the video.
